My position is goalkeeper and I am playing in the C4. The games that I play are FIFA 16 and assassins creed Unity, but sometimes I play FIFA 15. I do these games on my PlayStation 4. I am studying pre-university secondary education. My favourite subject is gymnastics, because I am very sportive.
Regards Kevin.

Hello people,

I am Sander and I attend the Grundel Lyceum in Hengelo, The Netherlands. It is a really nice school.

I’m in a gymnasium class, that means that I have Latin and Greek as subjects, apart from the usual stuff. These subject are both really interesting and much more challenging than normal subjects.

I’d like to play games in my spare time, but my biggest hobby is playing sports. I play handball three times a week and also play the piano.

I generally like school, but there are some very dull subjects. Maths for example. Still, school is a nice place to be because I’ve my friends there and usually it’s great fun.

Hope you liked my introduction!

Bye,

Sander

Hi, I’m Britt. I’m 14 years old and I live in Hengelo. Hengelo is close to the German border. I have one sister and one brother. My sister is older than me and my brother is the youngest. I live with my parents and siblings. I also have 2 rabbits and 2 fishes. I have braces and I have long blond hair. I like baking, watching movies and going to parties with friends. I like being on social media too. I go to school at the Lyceum de Grundel. It is a very nice school. My favorite subject is German. I’m the left girl on the photo below.

Hello, my name is Maarten. I am thirteen years old. I live in Borne, that’s in the Netherlands. I live with my parents and my three brothers. I have no pets. I have a few hobbies. What I like is meeting up with friends. I’m very happy in life. I’m almost always happy. My favorite food is Italian food. My favorite movie genre is comedy.

Hello there,

My name is Ghislaine and I am 14 years old. I am about 65 inches tall, have blue eyes and short blonde hair. My school is ‘Lyceum de Grundel‘ in The Netherlands. I don’t like school that much, but I’m able to meet up with my friends so that will help me to get along with the day. Sometimes after school when I don’t have homework I also meet up with my friends. I don’t have any siblings, so I live with my parents and two goldfish. I can’t go a day without singing or listening to music. I listen to all kind of music, so I don’t have a favorite category.  My favorite subjects on school are PE, English and German. I hope that you know me a little better know!

Hi! I am Karlijn and I am 14 years old. I live in Hengelo, in the Netherlands. I go to school by bike, and I bike to school with some of my friends every morning. Then we talk about a lot of stuff, and it just doesn’t has a clue at all. When I am at school, I follow lessons with my friend Danique for a lot of subjects, my favorite one is drawing. I’m a girl, and I love to swim and draw. I train with Marloes, a friend of mine. I train about 4 times a week. If I don’t learn for tests, or make homework, I watch a lot of movies and series from Netflix. I also like to talk with my friends on Social Media, like WhatsApp. And if I am so lazy and don’t want to do anything I just want to lay in bed and do nothing.

Greets, Karlijn.

Hello everyone, I will describe myself now. I am Brian, I’m a guy, 14 years old and I attend Gymnasium at Grundel Lyceum. I have two younger brothers and an older brother, I live with my parents in the Netherlands. Grundel Lyceum is a school in the Netherlands, the school is pretty nice. The school is located in the city Hengelo, the city is very nice too. I don’t need to bike that much if I go to school, that means that the school isn’t very far away for me. I like to play board games and videogames in my spare time, especially when it’s Saturday, because I don’t need to think of all frustration I will get at school then. I like board games like Monopoly (because I win nine out of ten times when I play it), but when it comes to Chess, I will lose nine out of ten when I play it. But losing a game doesn’t matter that much, while you have fun and kept in your mind that if you always win that the others always lose. Not only my spare time is fun, but school is (sometimes) also fun, because there are cool subjects like math and English. And nice friends at school who will often support you when you supported them back. I hope that you learned more of my time at school and of my spare time!

My home is fifteen kilometers from school, so I cycle every day a lot. When I’m at home I do my homework and learn for my tests. But if I don’t make my homework I like to chill with my friends and listen to music. My favourite music genre is pop, but I listen also to deep-house. With my friends I like to go out in ‘Vios’, it’s like a disco but then much cooler and for ages around 13 years old. Hello, I am Serop. My school is Lyceum de Grundel. I admire this school, because it has so many pupils and everything is well organized. Things I like to do: Playing soccer, chilling with friends and gaming. On our school we have a ‘mediatheek’. This is a place like a library, and we can borrow books there, in short it's a handy place! I go to school by bike, that is handy if the weather is nice, but not if the weather is rainy. We have a laptop-class on our school this year. That can sometimes be fine, but sometimes it can be bad. Generally it is finer than books, but sometimes I miss the books. Also it is a good idea to have your bag ready, before you go to bed. Kind Regards, Serop.

My favourite subject on school is Cambridge English, which is an advanced English lesson, but it is very fun. I really like to swim, but if you ask my friend Karlijn she says that I can’t swim well because my ‘technic’ isn’t right. I have a little brother, but he is very annoying so I won’t mention him. Karlijn is kind of my best friend, it may seem cliché, but she is really nice. Uhm, what is some other thing I can say about myself. Have I already mentioned that I read ¾ of my time? I should have. I would like to end my introduction here because I don’t know what else to tell. I hope you enjoyed it. PS: Below this text is a picture of me with Karlijn (I’m the one without glasses).

2G1 Pupils of Lyceum de Grundel have written poems about Children's Rights:

My greatest wish for you my dear,
is that you will never be alone and I will always be near.
But there will be no peace on earth until,
Every child can eat their daily fill,
Be warm with the winter wind howling outside,
hoping that there is a better future for them every night.

Every child has the right of a warm bed,
and to be kissed goodnight by their mom and dad.
Every child has the right to play.
to say what they want to say.

Children are the future,
they know what is wrong and right.
Therefore the answer is not to fight.
We can make a change in this mess.
We can make this a success.

You are never alone
We are wolves howling to the same moon
by Esmee and Anne.

Life is unfair.

Life is unfair, but safety first.

Children have to fight.

And kill people at worst.

How can that be right.

Life is unfair, and children work

in dusty factories.

They can’t do homework.

They are the factory bosses’ battery.

Life is unfair, health is weighty.

Medicines are rare

Water often is dirty

We need to think about healthcare

Life is unfair, and then you die,

so make your life better.

And that's the reason why

ethnicity doesn't matter
By Sander and Teike.

All I’ve ever wanted was world peace,

Where people don’t harm and tease.

A world where people don’t fight,

I hope that they will see the light.

Let’s all stay strong together,

Then it will always be a sunny weather.

People help this world in need,

And let’s pray that we will succeed.

By Ghislaine.

There are children with no freedom

And there are dangerous people who mislead them

We are happy and free

But they cannot have guarantee

We are having a good life and we don’t have to worry

But they have to kill people and sometimes there life is blurry

But if we look upward smiling to their skies

Their faith in life reflected in their eyes

By Lucas.

Different worlds on the same planet.

Hungry, cold, rich, bold.

Born the same but then they got old.

Different parents, different lives, one thrives one dies.

One works, one goes to school,

unfair, what will he do?

One poor, one had more.

Dad was a farmer, mom was a whore.

Dad was a broker, mom a housewife.

One lives in leisure, one lives in strife.

One likes to read, the other can’t.

One goes to church, and proceeds to chant.

One prays in his hut. Lives like a mutt.

One is upset when he misses a putt.

Both boys, thirteen years old.

One day, one gets sold.

He wants to stay, he acts very bold.

So they leave him.

Out in the cold.

And the game is over, the cards all fold.

Different people different lives,

one thrived, one died.
By Skyler.

Feedback Learning Circle  To the jury of GTP
Hello, we are class 2GA1 from Lyceum de Grundel. We are a class from the Netherlands. In our class there are 31 children. We are doing Athenaeum or Gymnasium. Our school is in Hengelo. Our class is very cosy.We took part in the learning circle project. We had to do various assignments: In the introduction, we told something about ourselves. An audio assignment, you had to say something about your classmate and a lot of other stuff. We think it was a nice idea to connect different schools form around and the world and it expands your knowledge. Although we think it was cool to get feedback from other schools, sometimes it was stressful and it took a lot of time. Thanks to the organisation of the learning circle for making it possible to meet with other schools and expand our English skills. Céleste, Anne and Anne. Greetings from Hengelo, The Netherlands
Hello,
We have learned a lot from the learning circle. For example that children in other countries don´t have all the stuff they need for school. They don´t have computers and good books and teachers. So we saw that we have it very good on school. We have good books, a laptop, pencils and good teachers. Those teachers are well educated. The teachers in some other countries are not always educated. We have learned many children’s rights. And we have seen that not all the children’s rights are the same in all countries.
We think it is important that children are educated well. We want everyone to have the right to go to school, everyone in the world. In our country there are many well educated teachers who don’t have a job. They could travel to a country where there aren’t well educated teachers to educate the children there. (Emily, Roos, Marloes, Marjolein and Renske)
Evaluation learning circle design a school
We liked it to design a school. The upside was, It sparkled our imagination. But it was taking a long time to design and build it, so that was a downside. (Britt, Ghislaine, Mascha & Demi)

Hello, I’m Marloes, I’m 13 years old and my school is ‘Lyceum de Grundel’.

I really like to swim, I train about 4 times a week.I live in Hertme, in the Netherlands It’s a small village close to Borne.I go to school with my e-bike, it’s an electronic bike so you don’t have to cycle so much, but Esmee used my bike too. With my friend Esmee (who is addicted to movies) I watch gossip girl or another movie on Netflix almost every day

Hi guys!

You did this challenge very well. The stories are great and there are a lot of pictures and videos. The drawings are profound, but not very professional. The idea that you had to create those mindmaps is extraordinary.

Bye, Sanne, Quinty and Merel.
